Krav Maga Classes & Services
Adult Krav Maga Programs & Classes
Our adult Krav Maga program is suitable for anyone aged 18+ and doesn’t require any previous Krav Maga or martial arts training. We do require that before taking part in regular classes, prospective students either take an in-person introductory seminar or complete an online virtual short course. This is so that regular classes can be used to teach the system’s curriculum, rather than introducing people who have never trained before how to take part in our classes. To see upcoming dates and to register, for either an in-person Krav Maga seminar, or the online short course, please click here.
Our system’s curriculum includes defenses against unarmed and armed assailants (knife, stick, gun) whether standing, seated or on the ground, regardless of whether there is one or more assailants etc. We don’t supplement our system with other styles, such as Muay Thai and BJJ etc., as Krav Maga has striking, grappling and groundwork already, and is a reality-based self-defense approach rather than a combat sport etc. To read more about Krav Maga and its approach to dealing with real-world violence please click here, to see upcoming introductory Krav Maga seminars please click here, and to see a full schedule of our classes please click here.
Kids & Teens Krav Maga Programs & Classes
Our kids and teens Krav Maga program, runs on Saturday mornings, between 10:15 and 11 AM, throughout the school year, and is divided into two semesters (approximately 15 sessions in each). It is suitable for Kids and teens aged between five and seventeen, and teaches age-appropriate responses to the violent situations they are likely to face (we teach different age groups separately) e.g., kids and teens are more likely than adults to have to deal with group violence etc. Classes are fun and active, and are intended to improve co-ordination and physical fitness, as well as safety. Our instructors are both US Safe Sport and First Aid certified, and have all been CORI checked.

Corporate Krav Maga, Personal Safety & Self-Defense Training
Gershon Ben Keren has a long history of supplying security training and consultancy to organizations and enterprises worldwide. If you run a business, organization, or department, in Medford MA, that is looking to improve the safety and security of your employees and members, we have a number of a-la-carte programs both virtual and in-person that may meet your requirements. We can also – when necessary – tailor these programs to meet your organization’s needs, however for most groups and organizations our existing a-la-carte presentations and offerings meet their safety and security needs.
When people initially search for ways in which to improve the safety of their organization’s members they think about physical self-defense and Krav Maga. However, with limited time and in workplace settings the better way to accomplish this goal is to focus on developing the knowledge and skills that allow people to prevent, predict and avoid being victimized in the first place, or the “softer” skills that allow them to de-escalate potentially violent situations. This part of personal safety training is referred to as self-protection: the knowledge that either gets physical self-defense to work or eliminates the need for it. Even when organizations, want physical training on how to deal with real-life assaults and attacks, we recommend having some training in this area first, as it is the piece that makes physical self-defense effective e.g., many people simply freeze, and can’t recall physical techniques when under the stress and duress of an actual assault, and need training in how to first understand the situation, and how to manage adrenaline and their emotional state.
Most violent crime is both predictable and preventable and doesn’t require a physical solution. By educating members of your organization, how to identify the processes that predatory individuals use, the need for physical self-defense starts to be reduced. Whilst it is always good to know how to defend yourself when caught off-guard using Krav Maga, the ideal is never to find yourself in such a situation, by identifying and avoiding it altogether.
Gershon Ben Keren, has over thirty years working in the security industry, where his role (as a CPO – Close Protection Officer/Bodyguard) was to plan routes and events so that the possibility of violence against a client/principle were reduced, and to identify/move away from violence before it occurred etc., and it is this approach we he brings to such training sessions. Having master’s degrees in both Criminology and Criminal Psychology, and Psychology he brings an evidential and research-based approach to all training sessions.

Law-Enforcement Krav Maga
If you are working in Law-enforcement in Medford (or another city in Massachusetts) and would like to discuss how a Law-enforcement Krav Maga seminar could benefit your department please use the form below to express your interest – these are events that Gershon Ben Keren and our school provide pro-bono/free of charge, in support of local law-enforcement agencies.
Law-enforcement Krav Maga differs from that which we teach to civilians, in that we recognize that LEO’s rarely have the option to disengage from an assailant and must instead go towards them, rather than away etc. We also recognize that the greater the number and types of solutions that Law Enforcement Officers have the better able they are to respond to violent incidents, whether that is methods of de-escalation or tactics/strategies that allow them to better match force with force etc.
Whether you are looking for basic unarmed training, de-escalation, control and restraint (as an individual or part of a team), handcuffing techniques, OC spray, and/or use of the PR-24 or tactical baton etc. we are happy to discuss how we can meet you and your department’s needs.
